Why do people not see the similarities between monotheism and fascism? Let us count the ways: the cult of the leader, rules by decree, mindless adulation of the father figure, no tolerance for dissent, severe punishment for minor infractions of a cruel and arbitrary penal code, irrational hatred for Jews, homosexuals, communists and golden calves. Oh and you don’t mess with Mussolini or the God of Abraham unless you happen to prefer firing squads or eternal hell-fire.
